New Grounds Musicians

As we're finishing our info video for PABI, it's been a hard task to find music to score the film. Luckily we came across NewGrounds.com, a platform for creators to share their work with users.

The contributors to New Grounds participate simply because they love to create and want to share what they've done. We're very lucky to be working with a group of talented musicians to use their work in our video.

Check them out:

SBB - We're using his song "Deep Blur Clouds", an ambient track that creates a cloudy feel.

Reasoner - "A Walk Down the Trail" is a great ambient track with a very cinematic feel.

Aloysius Rexford -
"Sunlight Through Dusty Air" This guy has produced so many great tracks that it was hard to choose just one.

Nebula Makes it to the White House

Sort of.

Our co-owner James Roe recently served as Editor on a TV ad targeting Sen. Mary Landrieu. The ad was covered by CNN, the Wall Street Journal, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, BoingBoing.com.

In a white house briefing the ad against Landrieu was mentioned to President Obama. Unfortunately, Nebula was never mentioned but the ad will be airing soon across the country.

Props to James and Ralph Madison for creating the ad. Click here to see it.

Update from the Starship Nebula

We're working diligently to produce a video for Plaquemines Association of Business and Industry. The video will be about the various traffic projects that are proposed in the Plaquemines Parish right now. Basically, the parish is growing at a rate that cannot be supported by the current road system, so PABI hired us to prodcue a video that would serve as a tool to secure funding for the projects. The project is coming along right on schedule and we expect it to be done soon.

We're also designing a website for our company. We're using some different ideas in the design, incorporating Retro-Futurism, and pictures from the Hubble Telescope. We'll be looking for some artists to do different renditions of the basic site design, so if you might be interested give us a shout.

MRGO Must GO - Rally for Restoration Video

Last Monday, June 1st, was the first day of hurricane season. Being a New Orleans based company, this is the day when you begin mulling over your Plan B. What if it floods again ? Do we move to Baton Rouge ? Lafayette ? Who knows.

Fortunately, my mind was occupied with shooting the MRGO Must Go Coalition's Rally for Restoration. The purpose of the rally was for citizens of Orleans and St. Bernard Parish to demand that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers fix the wetlands that were destroyed by the Mississippi River Gulf Outlet (MRGO).

Working with Amanda Moore, the organizer of the rally, was a pleasure. She is very dedicated to the restoration of Louisiana's wetlands. She's not afraid to say what needs to be done and who needs to do it. (The Corps). We look forward to working with her, the MRGO Must GO Coalition, and the National Wildlife Federation.
